Hey Dude

How fun is this? Well I wish I could take "sole" credit for it, but really I saw the idea posted in a tutorial from The Alley Way Stamps (view here)
Onto my project. When I saw these colors I did a little happy dance inside. I mean who doesn't love these colors together right? I knew I wanted to make a fun little project (not a card) so this is what I came up with. Trying to incorporate it into PS Spark Challenge & 10 Minute Craft Dash, I knew I had to get all my supplies ready. I drew out my design, got everything together, set the timer and...
9 minutes 27 seconds later I had this little guy. I really LOVE how it turned out! Don't look to closely, I had a little "non-strait" stitching, but what do you expect for under 10 minutes? lol
My little sour cream container would be perfect to hold a fun treat for a birthday boy. I would imagine this would be adorable for a little "on top of present" get well, you rock, or just because.
I also stamped some twill ribbon with the same stamp sets.
Thanks for stopping by!

Love is in the AIR

This is a super simple more CAS card for me. I told you I have a hard time sticking to sketches. I am playing along with RetroSketches.
I't was a hard one for me since I wanted to combine it with The Alley Way Stamps Challenge which for me was natural tones with pops of color. It was kind of hard, but like the results.
I ended up using the Lighter than Air set. Which I am IN LOVE with! I haven't found a TAWS set that I don't like inking up yet. I used the hot air balloon and added my own dots and heart. I popped up the balloon, and one cloud with some pop dots. My pop of green is a button. LOL I know cheesy, but I think it just brings out the colors a bit. I wish you could see it in real life. The background is embossed also.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
eta: oops I forgot to say I used Trees Company from TAWS for the clouds (they are a favorite of mine, because you can use them as clouds or tree tops)

Your're My Universe

I have to admit when I first saw the Sparks Challenge Sketch I was a little stumped. I am not the type of person that "colors in the lines" so to speak. So sketches for me sometimes are a bit challenging.
I started looking at the adorable cards made by the team and I ran into Vera's Card HERE as I was reading her post, I thought to myself. YES! YES! YES! The banner doesn't need to be a banner, the square doesn't have to be square. So my card was spinning in my mind. I wanted to make something for my husband to tell him how much I love him. This is what I came up with.
As you can see I used  the sketch but in my own way I guess.
I did a really fun technique on the "moon" I put some distress ink on a craft mat, sprayed it with water, then dipped my stamp into it. I used the Space Cadet stamp set for the circles on my moon. I then took the "left over ink" on the craft mat, using an acrylic block and press the block into the ink. Quickly place it (as if you were stamping the block) on your paper. You get this cool splattered effect.
I used some white embossing powder from WOW to stamp the stars on top of the distress ink that was layed down. I really love how this turned out. I think it's a perfect way to say I love you for a "GUY" in the non-traditional reds and pinks. What do you think?

adding a little love

First things first!! I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who left a comment on my last card. You sure do know how to "welcome" a girl to blogland!

I love crafting! To me it gives a quick sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. I saw that Paper Smooches is doing a "upload a card using a heart" I didn't have anything online to "link up" so I created a little something for the challenge. I really love how it turned out! I hope you do too.
one of my favorite sets is the Squeaky Clean set
I also used the mustache and lips from the Chubby Chums Pals set

I took the plunge!

After a lot of friends and family telling me I needed to join the blog world, I finally did it. What better way to join then starting off with a challenge. I may be new to the whole "blog land" world. However I am NO stranger to crafting. I have been crafting for well over 20years. I also am an avid hoarder of all paper crafting items. Okay enough about me, lets get to the first card. I hope I do this right.
I have been a long time follower of Paper Smooches and love everything about them. Here is my card for their Sparks Challenge Polka Dots. I used the Falling for You, and the new I heart art stamp set.
As you can see I ran with the Polka Dot theme. The little monster is in tiny polka dots, the paint, and all the colors too. I heat embossed the splatter from I heart art stamp to give it a glossy feel.

I hope you like it thanks so much for stopping by. Until next time.
